The freedom of self-expression is addictive. Like really good bourbon, head-spinning passionate sex, or a baseline of thunder you can feel in your chest: that experience you struggle to leave behind. When I can't; I write. Fiction or non-fiction, it's the inspiration that drives a story that captures me. A simple observation that creates a lingering image, and being able to write that one moment in a life as a story is powerful.
